In October 2006, exports FOB amounted to € 2247.7 million, by 15.8% more than in October 2005 and by 1.9% more than in September 2006.

Imports CIF amounted to € 3879.5 million in October 2006 (€ 3580.8 million imports FOB), by 26.0% more than in October 2005 and by 14.7% more than in September 2006.

Exports FOB during 1.I-31.X 2006 amounted to € 21349.5 million, by 16.0% more than during 1.I-31.X 2005.

In the structure of exports, six of 22 sections of goods in the Combined Nomenclature hold together 77.3% of total exports, as follows:

In comparison with 1.I-31.X 2005 period, exports during 1.I-31.X 2006 registered significant changes in the structure of goods in the Combined Nomenclature.

Thus, exports of machinery and mechanical devices, electric machinery, appliances and equipment, sound and video recorders exceeded exports of clothing made of fabrics, knitted or crocheted, textile materials for the first time after a very long period of time in which they held the first place.

Value of exports to the European Union countries (EU-25) during 1.I-31.X 2006, in comparison with the same period of 2005, increased by 16.1%.

The weight of exports to the European Union countries in total exports was 67.8%.

The top of partner countries holding the first ten places for exports during 1.I-31.X 2006 (representing 71.5% of total exports) is presented in the table below:

By customs regimes according to the customs legislation, out of total exports during 1.I-31.X 2006, 54.5% represent final exports, 45.2% represent exports of goods resulted from inward processing of some temporarily imported goods and 0.3% represent exports of goods for outward processing (outside the country).

Imports CIF during 1.I-31.X 2006 amounted to € 32589.6 million (€ 30080.8 million in prices FOB), by 24.7% more than during 1.I-31.X 2005.

In the structure of imports, six of 22 sections of goods in the Combined Nomenclature hold together 76.1% of total imports, as follows:

Analyzing the structure of imports by sections of the Combined Nomenclature, it is noticed that the same sections hold together constantly since the beginning of the year, over 76% of total imports, imports of clothing made of fabrics, knitted or crocheted, textile materials registering a decrease as against the beginning of the year regarding their weight in total imports.

Value of imports coming from the European Union countries (EU-25) during 1.I-31.X 2006, in comparison with the same period of 2005, increased by 24.6%.

The weight of imports from the European Union countries in total imports was 62.5%. The top of partner countries holding the first ten places for imports during 1.I-31.X 2006 (representing 66.7% of total imports) is presented in the table below:

By customs regimes according to the customs legislation, out of total imports during 1.I-31.X 2006, 77.9% represent final imports, 20.8% temporary imports of goods for inward processing and 1.3% represent imports of goods resulted from outward processing (outside the country) of some temporarily exported goods and imports of goods under financial leasing.

Commercial deficit during 1.I-31.X 2006 was € 11240.1 million in prices FOB/CIF (€ 8731.3 million in prices FOB/FOB) more than during 1.I-31.X 2005 by € 3503.0 million in prices FOB/CIF (by € 3006.8 million in prices FOB/FOB).
