RETAIL SALES. COMMERCIAL SERVICES.

In 2000, as against 1999, the volume of turnover for enterprises having retail trade as their main activity (excepting motor vehicles, motorcycles and fuels for motor vehicles) and repair of personal and household goods, decreased by 3.8% under comparable conditions. From sales of food goods, it was achieved a turnover of 8.9% under the level of 1999.In comparison with 1999, turnover volume from sales of non-food goods increased by 0.4%, significant growths being registered for sales of furniture, lighting articles, electric appliances, smith's and dyeing articles (+12.5%) and for sales of pharmaceuticals and medical products, cosmetics and toilet products (+5.7%).
In 2000, turnover volume of enterprises having as their main activity sale, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuels for motor vehicles was placed over the level of 1999 (+5.8%).
Turnover obtained from sale of fuels was by 7.9% higher in comparison with 1999, while turnover from sales of motor vehicles, motorcycles, spare parts and accessories, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles increased by 3.9%.
Economic units with private integral and private majority capital contributed by 94.6% to total turnover for retail trade sector (excepting motor vehicles and motorcycles) and by over half (61.4%) to that of trade with motor vehicles and fuels.
The activity of market services rendered to the population carried out a turnover by 7.6% lower than in 1999. Turnover volume reduced for all categories of services, the lowest falls being registered for hairdresser and other beauty activities (-22.8%) and for travel agencies and tourism assistance (-21.3%).
In 2000, enterprises with private integral and private majority capital contributed by 77.6% to total turnover of this sector.
Turnover volume index of enterprises having retail trade as their main activity and of enterprises having as their main activity, sale, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuels for motor vehicles has increased in 2001 as against 2000 by 1.0%.
Turnover volume of enterprises having retail trade as their main activity (excepting motor vehicles, motorcycles and fuels for motor vehicles) and repair of personal and household goods in 2001 has been by 0.4% higher under comparable conditions as compared to 2000.
Sales of food goods have carried out a turnover of 5.4% under the level of 2000. In comparison with 2000, turnover volume from sales of non-food goods has been by 4.3% higher, a significant growth being registered for sales of furniture, lighting articles, electric appliances, smith's and dyeing articles (+12.8%).
Turnover value of enterprises having as main activity sale, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuels for motor vehicles has been in 2001 under the level of 2000 by 2.4%.
Turnover obtained from sale of fuels has been by 5.4% higher than in 2000, while turnover from sale of motor vehicles, motorcycles, spare parts and accessories, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles has fallen by 1.1%.
In 2001, economic units with integral private and majority private capital have contributed by 94.4% to total turnover volume of retail sector (excepting motor vehicles and motorcycles) and by over half (54.8%) to turnover of motor vehicles and fuels trade.
The activity of market services provided to the population has carried out in 2001 a turnover of 13.8% lower than in 2000. Turnover volume has fallen for most of services, the highest falls being registered for gambling and other recreation activities. (-38.5%), which represent almost 20% of total market services rendered to the population this period.
In 2001, the enterprises with integral private and majority private capital have contributed by 73.5% to total turnover volume of this sector.
During 1.I-30.XII.2002, turnover volume of enterprises having as main activity the retail ( excepting motor vehicles, motorcycles and fuels for motor vehicles) and repair of personal and household goods, was over the level registered in the same period of 2001, a significant growth being obtained for sales of non-food goods (+7.3%).
During 1.I-31.XII.2002, turnover volume of enterprises having as main activity the sale, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail and of fuels for motor vehicles, was under the level of the same period of 2001 by 6.6 %, owing to the fall of turnover volume obtained from the sale of fuels for motor vehicles by 16.4%.
Turnover for the sale, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles registered a growth of 5.3% in 2002 as against the previous year.
During 1.I-31.XII.2002, the activity of market services rendered to the population registered a turnover by 10.6% lower than in the same period of 2001, the only growth being noticed in the activity of travel agencies and tourism assistance (about +10.0%).
In 2003, turnover volume of enterprises having as their main activity wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuels for motor vehicles was by 14.0% higher than in 2002, being supported by the growth of turnover volume obtained from trade of motor vehicles, motorcycles, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+17.5%) and by that obtained from retail trade of fuels for motor vehicles (+11.3%).
In 2003, the activity of market services rendered to the population registered a turnover by 4.9% higher than in 2002.
Trade continued the increasing trend recorded beginning with the years 2001. For 2004 compared with 2003, the global indices of retail were 15.0% and by group of goods the index of retail was 11.0% for food goods and 17.9% for non-food goods.
The evolution of the market services rendered to population1) in 2004 faced to previous year shows a robust growth (by 17.0%). The most important were the evolution of the market services from restaurants (by 11.1%), travel agency (by 11.4%) and radio & TV activities (23.1%).
In 2005, turnover volume of enterprises having as main activity retail trade (except trade motor vehicles and motorcycles) was by 17.6% over the level registered in 2004, higher increases being obtained both for sales of food goods, beverages and tobacco (+19.2%) and for sales of non-food goods (+16.6%).
In December 2005, as compared to December 2004, turnover obtained from retail trade was higher by 30.3% (+32.3% for food goods, beverages and tobacco and +29.1% for non-food goods).
Turnover volume of enterprises having as main activity wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles registered in 2005 was higher by 29.9% as against 2004, being supported by the growth both of turnover from trade and maintenance of motor vehicles (+41.5%) and of turnover obtained from retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles (+19.6%).
In comparison with December 2004, turnover obtained in this activity in December 2005 was higher by 34.3% due to turnover growth both from trade and maintenance of motor vehicles and from retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles (+42.0%, respectively +27.1%).
In 2005, the activity of market services rendered to the population pointed out a turnover by 18.6% higher than in 2004. In comparison with December 2004, in December 2005 a growth of 28.0% was registered.
During 1.I.-31.V.2006, turnover volume of enterprises having as main activity retail trade (except trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles) were by 25.1% over the level registered during 1.I.-31.V.2005, higher growths being obtained for sales of food goods, beverages and tobacco (+32.7%).
In May 2006 as against May 2005, turnover obtained from retail trade was by 34.2% (+40.2% higher for food goods, beverages and tobacco and +29.4% for non-food goods).
Turnover volume of enterprises having as main activity wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles registered during 1.I.-31.V.2006 was by 17.4% higher than during 1.I.-31.V.2005.
In comparison with May 2005, turnover obtained from this activity in May 2006 was by 28.1% higher because of higher turnover both from trade and maintenance of motor vehicles and from retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles (+35.6%, respectively +19.3%).
The activity of market services rendered to the population during 1.I.-31.V.2006 pointed out a turnover by 8.4% higher than during 1.I.-31.V.2005. In comparison with May 2005, a growth of 36.6% was registered in May 2006.

In September 2006, as compared to September 2005, turnover obtained by enterprises having retail as main activity (except trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles) was by 22.0% higher (+20.6% for food goods, beverages and tobacco and +23.0% for non-food goods).
During 1.I.-30.IX.2006, turnover volume was by 24.8% over the level registered during 1.I.-30.IX.2005, higher growths being obtained both fro sales of non-food goods (+22.1%) and for sales of food goods, beverages and tobacco (+28.2%).
In comparison with September 2005, turnover obtained in September 2006 by enterprises having as main activity wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail of fuel for motor vehicles was by 16.4% higher, due to the growths registered mainly in trade and maintenance of motor vehicles (+25.4%). Turnover volume registered during 1.I.-30.IX.2006 was by 19.6% higher than during 1.I.- 30.IX.2005.
In September 2006 in comparison with the same month of 2005 the activity of market services rendered to the population registered a growth of turnover by 31.1%, and during 1.I.- 30.IX.2006, turnover was by 8.4% higher than the level registered in the same period of 2005.
In October 2006, in comparison with October 2005, turnover obtained by enterprises having retail trade as main activity (except trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles) was higher by 24.7% (+32.0% for food goods, beverages and tobacco and +19.3% for non-food goods).During 1.I. - 31.X.2006, turnover volume was by 25.2% over the level registered during 1.I. - 31.X.2005, higher growths being obtained both for sales of food goods, beverages and tobacco (+29.8%) and for sales of non-food goods (+21.6%).
In comparison with October 2005, turnover obtained in October 2006 by enterprises having as main activity wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles was by 10.4% higher due to the growths registered in particular for retail trade of fuel for motor vehicles (+18.5%).
Turnover volume registered during 1.I. - 31.X.2006 was by 18.1% higher than during 1.I. - 31.X.2005. The activity of market services rendered to the population registered a growth of turnover in October 2006 as against the same month of 2005 by 30.4% and turnover during 1.I. - 31.X.2006, turnover was by 10.4% higher than the level registered in the same period of 2005.
