Source: Household Labour Force Survey (HLFS).According to the data provided by the National Agency for Employment, number of unemployed registered at the end of May 2006 was 481.2 thousands. As against May 2005, number of unemployed registered at the agencies for employment was by 14.7 thousands higher.
Out of total registered unemployed, women represented 39.9 %.
Unemployment rate registered in May 2006 was 5.5% in relation to total civil active population (5.6% in May 2005). Female unemployment rate was by 1.6 percentage points lower than male unemployment rate (4.6% as against 6.2%).
Higher unemployment rates were registered in the following counties: Vaslui (10.0%), Mehedinti (9.8%), Gorj (9.7%), Harghita (9.0%), Ialomita (8.5%), Hunedoara and Teleorman (8.3% each), Galati (8.2%).
The lowest unemployment rates were registered in the counties: Timis (2.2%), Ilfov (2.3%), Bihor (3.0%), as well as in Bucharest Municipality (2.7%).
Evolution of some social indicators in September 2006In September 2006, number of employees was 4608.5 thou persons, by 6.8 thousands lower than in August 2006, the highest decreases being registered in clothing, hotels and restaurants, wood and wood products processing.
According to the data provided by the National Agency for Employment, number of registered unemployed at the end of September 2006 was 440.2 thousands. In comparison with September 2005, number of registered unemployed was by 53.6 thousands lower. In total registered unemployed, women represented 42.6 %.
In September 2006, unemployment rate was 5.0% related to total civil active population, decreasing as against September 2005 (5.6%). Female unemployment rate was by 0.9 percentage points lower than male one (4.5% as against 5.4%). Higher unemployment rates were registered in the counties: Vaslui (9.8%), Gorj (8.8%), Mehedinti (8.7%), Ialomita (8.6%), Teleorman (7.7%). The lowest unemployment rates were registered in the counties: Timis (2.0%), Ilfov (2.3%), Bihor (2.6%), Bistrita Nasaud (2.8%), Satu Mare (2.8%) as well as in Bucharest Municipality (2.6%).
Evolution of certain social indicators in October 2006Number of employees was 4601.7 thousand persons in October 2006, by 6.8 thou persons less than in September 2006, the highest decreases being registered in agriculture, hunting and related services, hotels and restaurants, electric machinery and appliances, post and telecommunications, leather goods and footwear.
According to the data provided by the National Agency for Employment, number of unemployed registered at the end of October 2006 was 453.5 thou persons. In comparison with October 2005, number of registered unemployed was lower by 46.2 thou persons. Women represented 42.2% of total registered unemployed.
Unemployment rate registered in October 2006 was 5.1% in relation to total active civil population, decreasing as against October 2005 (5.7%). Female unemployment rate was by 0.9 percentage points lower than male one (4.6% as compared to 5.5%).
Higher unemployment rates were registered in the counties: Vaslui (11.1%), Mehedinti (9.2%), Gorj (9.0%), Ialomita (8.1%), Teleorman (8.1%).
The lowest unemployment rates were registered in the counties: Ilfov (2.0%), Timis (2.0%), Bihor (2.6%), Satu Mare (2.9%) as well as in Bucharest Municipality (2.4%).
